On March 18, 2026, Nemko and the Korean Standards Association (KSA) hosted Korea's first AI Trust Mark and AI+ certification ceremony in Seoul. The event was attended by Nemko Group CEO Per Ove Øyberg, alongside key executives from Nemko Korea, KSA, and Samsung Electronics, marking a significant milestone in global AI certification collaboration.
Advancing Trustworthy AI in Consumer Electronics
Samsung Electronics' HRM Remote Support Service was officially recognized as meeting the rigorous requirements of both the Nemko AI Trust Mark and KSA AI+ certification.
The service utilizes AI to diagnose appliance conditions, detect anomalies, and provide users with actionable recommendations. This certification confirms that the system meets international standards not only in performance but also in reliability, transparency, and AI governance.
A notable aspect of this ceremony is that it represents the first official joint certification conducted by Nemko and KSA in Korea.
This achievement demonstrates that Korea's AI certification framework can be directly aligned with Nemko's global certification standards—an important foundation that strengthens Nemko's leadership in the AI reliability certification market across the Asia region.
Aligning with Global AI Regulations
The Nemko AI Trust Mark, in particular, is drawing attention for its ability to:
- Evaluate global AI reliability requirements, and
- Support alignment with EU AI Act–related criteria.

A critical contributor to this success was the coordinating and bridging role of Nemko Korea. The team built an operational collaboration framework enabling close alignment between Nemko's global certification system and KSA's domestic certification processes, and planned and coordinated joint seminars, workshops, and technical exchange programs between the two organizations.
These efforts established the practical foundation for cooperation and enabled this certification to become more than just a "first case"—it served as a key enabler for establishing Nemko's global certification framework firmly within the South Korean AI regulation market.
