This internship is designed for a Chinese-speaking intern based in the Netherlands with a strong interest in AI governance, regulation, and the Chinese AI market. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to China-focused market research, localization of AI Trust services, and strategic advisory work for global clients operating between Europe and China.
A core objective of this internship is to support Nemko Digital’s strategic decision-making on how and when to engage the Chinese market, including assessing the potential for a local presence or partnerships, based on the findings of this research. Strong outcomes may open opportunities for deeper involvement as this strategy develops.
You will work closely with senior consultants and leadership on AI assurance, regulatory intelligence, market positioning, and service development.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Market Research
- Regulatory Analysis: Research the Chinese AI regulatory landscape, including key laws, standards, and enforcement trends.
- Comparative Studies: Support comparative analysis between EU and China AI governance approaches.
- Market Intelligence: Contribute to China market studies on AI trust, product compliance, and AI adoption across sectors (electronics, medical devices, smart products), focusing on:
- Identifying the actual needs of companies operating in or with China.
- Analyzing how Nemko Digital competitors position themselves in the Chinese market.
- Mapping relevant local partners, institutions, or ecosystems for future collaboration.
- Service Localization: Support the localization of Nemko Digital’s AI Trust services and frameworks for the Chinese market.
- Internal Collaboration: Work with local Chinese Nemko teams and participate in selected China-related client interactions.
Operational & Consulting Support
- Client Materials: Support proposal writing and the preparation of China-relevant client presentations.
- Service Adaptation: Assist in adapting services like the AI Trust Mark and AI & data compliance advisory for China-market use cases.
- Competitor Analysis: Conduct ongoing market and competitor analysis related to AI governance in China.
- Case Documentation: Identify and document real-world examples of AI use in Chinese and China-facing products.
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Support the development of client personas and narratives for organizations operating between Europe and China.
Content Creation & Validation
- Policy Compilation: Research and compile AI regulation and policy content related to China.
- Translation: Translate and localize packaged services into Chinese to ensure market relevance.
- Knowledge Management: Support the drafting and validation of insight articles, briefings, and internal knowledge materials.
Who You Are

- Language Skills: Native or fluent Chinese speaker with strong English proficiency.
- Location: Currently based in the Netherlands.
