AI Trust Expert Consultant (5–8 Years)
We’re hiring a AI Trust Expert Consultant to join our Nemko Digital team. You’ll work at the forefront of AI innovation, helping clients operationalize AI governance, safety, and compliance. This role is ideal for a seasoned AI professional with strong standards and regulatory experience who wants to shape the future of trustworthy AI.

The Role
Are you skilled at translating complex standards and regulations into practical, actionable solutions that resonate with executives and developers? In this role, you’ll be a key driver in helping companies navigate AI governance with ease. You cover neighbouring areas like data governance and cybersecurity with confidence. You’ll lead client engagements end‑to‑end, collaborate closely with other technical experts, and turn market insights into new services that build trust.
What You’ll Do
- Lead client projects end‑to‑end: scoping, delivery, reporting, and stakeholder management with limited supervision.
- Analyze and interpret national and international AI regulations (e.g. EU AI Act; EU GDPR) and standards (e.g. ISO/IEC 42001; ISO/IEC 27001; prEN 18228).
- Operationalize standards with clients: design and implement AI governance processes (policies, controls, risk assessments, documentation).
- Conduct gap analyses and readiness assessments against relevant frameworks.
- Lead workshops and training for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with technical consultants to ensure services are both compliant and technically sound.
- Develop and improve methodologies, templates, and internal best practices for AI trust and compliance.
- Mentor junior consultants and support onboarding.
- Contribute to business development: proposals, scopes, go‑to‑market material.
- Identify market opportunities and translate them into new value‑adding services.
What We’re Looking For
A proactive, driven professional with 5–8 years of experience in standards, compliance, AI governance, cybersecurity, or a related field.
You bring a mix of analytical precision, technical fluency, and client‑facing confidence.
Key Requirements
- Standards expertise: Strong knowledge of AI and digital governance and related standards, especially ISO/IEC 42001 and ISO/IEC 27001.
- Regulatory knowledge: Ability to interpret complex AI and ML regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act) and provide actionable advice.
- Hands-on implementation: Experience operationalizing governance frameworks or management systems.
- AI fluency: Proven familiarity with AI/ML lifecycle concepts, data pipelines, model deployment, and AI risk principles; and experience coaching or leading technical teams.
- Stakeholder leadership: Comfortable working across engineering, legal, risk, and executive teams.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication; strong facilitator and presenter.
- Business acumen: Ability to convert insights into client offerings and value propositions.
- Mindset: Entrepreneurial, autonomous, and results‑oriented.
- Languages: English and Dutch required; additional languages are a plus.
- Cultural awareness: Comfortable collaborating in diverse, international teams.
Education & Certifications (Expected)
- Master’s degree (preferred):
- M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Security, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline
- or LL.M. in IT Law, Tech Law, Data Protection, or related legal field
- Bachelor’s degree considered with strong, directly relevant experience
- Nice-to-have certifications:
- ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer / Lead Auditor
- ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer / Lead Auditor
- CIPP/E, CIPM, CISM, CISA, security or privacy credentials
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g. Databricks, IBM Watsonx, Azure AI)
